Clever Ladies Part 1.. Prunella Clough..

I recently read a review of a biography for the painter Prunella Clough. It was really good to hear of another woman who is interested in industrial imagery. She visited the London docklands in the 1950s and was often painting cranes and cargoes as well as the men driving the lorries. Her paintings of working environments are reflective of this era in their muted colours. She also seemed a very modest and unpretentious person, one reason why I think I have always been drawn to realism in art.
